2022 Congress Tracks


TRACKS

The objectives of the Congress will be pursued through an agenda consisting of plenary and abstract-driven sessions, skills-building workshops, poster presentations and displays, and thematic side-events build around 5 Congress tracks


Track 1: COVID-19 and young people

Reviewing the direct and indirect impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the health and well-being of young people in the Caribbean, and what can be done to mitigate this impact and accelerate progress towards achieving the SDG targets for all young people.

Track 2: Sexual-reproductive health and rights, HIV and STI

Strategies to improve the sexual and reproductive health of young people, improving access to effective and age-appropriate sexuality education, prevention of adolescent pregnancy and sexual violence, addressing legal, policy, health systems and community barriers for young people to access comprehensive and quality SRH services, reducing risks to contract HIV and STI’s, addressing the needs of young people living with HIV.

Track 3: Nutrition, physical activity, sports, and youth development

Promotion of sustainable healthy nutrition and physical activity from a life course perspective, reduction of overweight and obesity, anemia, eating disorders, body shaming.

Track 4: Mental health, substance use, violence, and injuries

Promotion of adolescent and youth mental health, early diagnosis, and proper treatment of mental health conditions, including anxiety and depression, prevention of suicide and self-harm, reduction of the use of alcohol, tobacco, and other psychoactive substances.

Track 5: Climate change and the environment

Innovative and sustainable solutions to the environmental threats to the Caribbean, activism and youth engagement in climate change.
