Who We Are

The CCAYH is a biennial Congress on Adolescent and Youth Health in the Caribbean region and is organized by a consortium of local and international partners who are invested in the health and well-being of adolescents in the Caribbean.

What We Do

CCAYH is a unique event in the region which creates a forum for leaders in the field of adolescent and youth health, policy makers, youth advocates, civil society organizations and NGOs and young people themselves to explore opportunities, foster collaboration, examine current evidence, challenges, programs interventions and approaches that can be implemented to improve adolescent and youth health in the Caribbean.

Background

The initiative for the organization of CCAYH came jointly from the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) and the International Association for Adolescent Health (IAAH). As a spin off from the World Congress on Adolescent Health, the Caribbean Congress on Adolescent and Youth Health was created as an opportunity to engage local stakeholders and to advance the adolescent and youth health agenda in the region.

The first Congress was held in Trinidad and Tobago in 2019.

The recently concluded 2nd Caribbean Congress on Adolescent and Youth Health was held in Kingston, Jamaica from October 20th- 22nd, 2022. More than 300 participants from the Caribbean region and Latin America took part in the 2022 Congress in-person and through virtual modalities.
